About SportsLook
SportsLook covers the sports people spend real money on — racket sports, golf, snow, water, road and the events around them. We answer the two questions those sports actually raise: what does it cost, and what should I buy?
The site has been publishing since 2014. It went quiet for a stretch while its owner worked on other projects, and was rebuilt from scratch in 2026 — new design, new editorial standards, and the old thin and off-topic pages removed rather than carried over.
What we publish
- Gear guides with specifications from the manufacturer and prices checked against current retail, dated on the page.
- Cost breakdowns — court construction, club membership, lessons, a season on snow, a week on the water — with the assumptions shown.
- Access guides for the majors: ballots, debentures, hospitality and resale rules, and what each route really costs after fees.
- Venue and capacity references, the section this site has published since 2014.
How we source facts
Prices go stale faster than anything else we publish, so every price on this site carries the date it was checked and the currency it was checked in. Specifications come from the manufacturer, capacities from the venue operator or governing body, and ticket rules from the organiser's own terms. Where we recommend a product we say why and name a cheaper alternative; where a link earns us a commission we say so on the page.
Who writes this
Articles carry a named byline and every writer has a profile page listing what they cover. Where a section is maintained by the editorial team rather than one person, the byline says so — we do not invent authors.
Corrections
We correct mistakes quickly and visibly. If you find a factual error, send the page link and the correction to contact@sportslook.net. See our editorial policy for how corrections are handled.
